Under the slogan "Not Denmarks' largest - but best" Vordingborg Festival Week has more than 100.000 visitors a year and is visited by the popular names of the Danish rock- and popscene. Every night for almost a week, the Castle Square near the Goose Tower becomes the setting for free concerts. Traditionally the Festival Week is closed Saturday night with a concert by the band "Bamses Venner" followed by a great display of fireworks.

In addition the town centre buzzes with activity and entertainment for children and adults in the afternoons.

The first Festival Week was held in 1980.
